JAMES I. MARKS, 81

JAMES I. MARKS, 81, passed away Thursday, October 13, 2011, at Parkview Hospital. Born in Knox, Indiana, he worked at International Harvester for 21 years and also owned and operated Marks Garden Shop for 50 years, retiring in 2009. He was a member of the McMillan Park Lions Club and served as past district Governor from 1983 to 1984. He enjoyed bowling, Komet Hockey and spending time with his family.

He loved his family and cherished all his grandchildren.

Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Evelyn M. Marks of Fort Wayne; sons, James I. Marks Jr. of Fort Wayne and Rick A. (Joyce) Marks of Big Long Lake; daughters, Karen Sue (Dave) Norden of Kendallville and Tina M. (Robert) Zedaker of Midland, Texas; 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and brother, George Marks of Punta Gorda, Florida.

He was preceded in death by parents, John G. and Minnie Marks; five sisters; and two brothers.

Service was 2 p.m. Monday, October 17, 2011 at D.O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Avenue with calling one hour prior. Pastor Steve Ensley officiating. Calling also from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, October 16, 2011 at the funeral home. Burial in Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne.
