JAMES DWIGHT KIMBLE, JR., 94, died Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at Kingston Residence. Born in Fort Wayne on February 26, 1917, Jim owned and operated Kimble Garage for 45 years. His retirement years were spent restoring antique automobiles and hanging out with long-time friends at his building, The Blue Barn. He was a member of the Optimist Club, Elks Club and the Historical Automobile Association.
Surviving are his daughters Lonnie Kimble Clegg of Sacramento, California and Julia Diane Kimble Mast of Wilton Manors, Florida. Granddaughters Dana (Gary) Timmerman of Avilla, Deanna (Michael) Rasbury of Roanoke, DeVonna (Stuart) Miller of Valparaiso, Christine White and Jenny Maier of Sacramento, California and Ellen (Arno) Clegg Nelson of Corvallis, Oregon and 10 great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death are his wife of 62 years Verdonna C. (Tuttle) Kimble; his parents James and Ruth Alma (David) Kimble; brother Arthur C. Kimble; sister-in-law Barbara (Burt) Kimble; and great-grandson David Thurber Rasbury.
There will be no services.
