DOROTHY MAE VOGELGESANG, 86
DOROTHY MAE VOGELGESANG, 86, was called to her Heavenly home Wednesday, April 20, 2011. She was born January 20, 1925 in Fort Wayne to the late John and Helen (Steinbacher) Hermes.
Dorothy worked as a clerk for the Penn-Central Railroad for 38 years and was a member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church.
Surviving are her children, Jerry (Patricia) Vogelgesang of Merrillville, Kenneth (Shelley) Vogelgesang of Fort Wayne, William (Sandra) Vogelgesang of Fort Wayne, Laura (Rev. Michael) Saylor of Convoy, Ohio, Janet Mannia of Indianapolis and Carol (James) Sprandel of Fort Wayne; seventeen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, was her husband, Ralph K. Vogelgesang in 1983; daughters, Susan and Joan Vogelgesang and brothers, William, Robert, and Paul.
Funeral service was Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, 1819 Reservation Dr., Fort Wayne, with visitation one hour prior to services. Visitation was also on Monday, April 25, 2011 from 5 to 8 P.M. at the church. Burial in Covington Memorial Gardens. Preferred memorial may be made to the church.
