AROUND THE FRAME

Divided in half to either fit into the washer or to be shared, this quilt has a new binding and is ready to begin a new life.PETS RULE AT PET EXPO

If you are a pet lover, make certain you are at the Memorial Coliseum next weekend, April 30-May 1.

The Allen County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to animals inaugurates the Northern Indiana Pet Expo and the real cool thing is-your altered cats and dogs are invited too, and their admission is only $1! Go to www.northernindianapetexpo.org, download the form and have your vet complete it.

There will be numerous rescue organizations, with all types of “Woofers and Hissers” looking for good homes at the Expo. You won’t be able to take a new friend home, but you can begin the adoption process.

It won’t be too early to start the holiday shopping for those most beloved members of the family either. Sixty vendors will show the latest in fashion, accessories, travel items, art work, fur care products galore. Rumor has it some booths might just have treats for the four-legged attendees, but none for the two-legged ones.

What is a Pet Expo without entertainment? The Disc-Connected K-9’s are the featured entertainment. Come watch the World Champion Flying Disc Dogs strut their stuff!

The very, very best thing is the Pet Expo benefits the ACSPCA. Their work in finding forever homes for animals is outstanding. The staff’s caring and compassion knows no bounds.

So what does this have to do with textiles? The One Step Ahead of the Dog project! A few quilts relinquished for this project have been reborn and are ready to find new owners. Their sale benefits the ACSPCA too.
Hope to see YOU at the Pet Expo! If you have questions, call the ACSPCA at 260-744-0454.
