INTERNET SEMINAR A HIT!

INTERNET SEMINAR AT KINGSTON RESIDENCE A HIT!Last Tuesday, February 22nd community members gathered at the Kingston Residence in Waynedale to learn more about free services available on the internet. The seminar was free to attend and covered a range of online topics including safe internet usage and searching, free basic e-mail setup, facebook setup and usage, as well as how to browse family safe videos on youtube. The presentation was given by Waynedale News’ own Michael Alberico and Dennis Cutter of The Waynedale Computer Tune-Up Shop.
“…the internet is a exciting tool, seminars like this get people started using the web in a safe and encouraging way.” Michael Alberico stated before the event. Attendees followed along with the help of a training itinerary and many took notes so they could try out the topics discussed at home.
Everyone seemed to be positive about the information, Kathy Freiburger, a participant, commented after the event, “Very eye opening what all is available on the internet. They were very good at explaining in detail without being overwhelming. Liked the security information, thought that was very good.”
Both speakers worked one-on-one with those in attendance after the presentation to answer additional questions about the topics discussed.
This event was sponsored by The Waynedale News, Kingston Residence, and The Waynedale Computer Shop to promote community togetherness and learning. These sponsors are currently planning additional seminars covering basic through advanced computer use, please continue reading The Waynedale News to learn about upcoming events.
