FALL NATURE EVENTS AT LITTLE RIVER WETLANDS PROJECT
Little River Wetlands Project, a local nature organization protecting more than 1,000 acres of natural and restored wetlands near Fort Wayne, offers interesting and informative nature events this fall.
All are free and open to the community.
Every Tuesday in November: 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. “Little River Ramblers.”

Thursday, November 11, 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. “The Problem with Exotic Pets.”
Light breakfast and nature presentation for nature lovers 50+ at Coventry Meadows Senior Community on W. Jefferson Blvd., Fort Wayne. Sponsored by Little River Wetlands Project. Free. Lori Gagen, Executive Director of Black Pine Animal Sanctuary, will speak about the many implications of the pet trade and the history and necessity for places like the sanctuary.
Saturday, November 13, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. “Traditional Plant Uses of the Miami.”
Meet at the Eagle Marsh barn, 6801 Engle Road, Fort Wayne. Dani Tippmann, Director of the Whitley County Historical Museum and member of our local Miami tribe, will guide us on a hike discussing traditional plant uses and the importance of the Little River valley. Saturday, November 13, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. “Seed Gathering.”
