EVENTS AT LITTLE RIVER WETLANDS PROJECT

Little River Wetlands Project, a local nature organization protecting over 1000 acres of wetland preserves southwest of Fort Wayne, offers interesting and informative nature events this summer and fall. All are free and open to the community.

 

Saturday, October 9

8 a.m. to noon

Stockbridge Audubon Society Birding Field Trip at Eagle Marsh

Meet at the Boy Scout office parking lot at the end of Olde Canal Place Drive (Verizon exit), Fort Wayne. Walk Eagle Marsh with expert birders and prepare to be amazed at the diversity of bird life on the preserve! Bring binoculars for optimal viewing. LRWP Volunteer and Member Appreciation Day: Native Heritage of the Little River Valley

As a thank-you to its volunteers and members, LRWP will provide a light lunch and educational program given by members of the Miami nation at Eagle Marsh. Afterward, we will hike at the preserve. The Wetlands Reserve Program

Seed Gathering

Meet at the Eagle Marsh barn, 6801 Engle Road, Fort Wayne. Seed heads will be ripe for the picking, so come out to help us gather these native species for later use in our restoration.
