The Waynedale News sponsored “Lunch on the Square” last Thursday, July 1. The event is the Downtown Improvement District’s weekly Thursday event held at One Summit Square, located at the corner of Wayne and Calhoun in downtown Fort Wayne. The square was full of families, businesspeople and onlookers who wanted to see what was going on.
This effort made by the Downtown Improvement District gives those who work downtown a place to take their food and enjoy the scenic downtown area. There was also live music by the funk-a-delic groove band “Pop’N’Fresh.”
Local businesses have the opportunity to reach out and network by becoming sponsors of the event. As a sponsor, The Waynedale News had a table to set up on where they networked, talked to potential customers, and passed out the latest newspaper and postcards.
The Downtown Improvement District has found an excellent way to incorporate local businesses and organizations with the emphasis on enjoying downtown. The Waynedale News will be at One Summit Square again on July 15th and July 29th. So stop on out and say Hey! to The Waynedale News from 11:30-1:00 and enjoy all that Downtown Fort Wayne has to offer.
