FAITH RICHARDSON

FAITH RICHARDSON, former owner of Zanesville Grocery and expert quilter, dies at 90.
For 35 years Faith, with husband Bill, served the Zanesville community as the proprietors of the local grocery. During those years they became well known as conscientious and friendly icons of the community. They retired when she was 61, and for their remaining years they pursued the things that they enjoyed most. For Faith it was quilting. Her quilts were featured at quilt shows all over the country, and even appeared in quilting magazines and calendars.
Born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, on June 5, 1920, to Ralph and Kate (Essig) Clark, she was married on June 30, 1940 to William Lee Richardson of Manleyville, Tennessee in Fort Wayne. They moved to Zanesville in 1945 and bought the grocery. In 2006, after 25 years of retired life, Bill suffered a stroke and they sold their home and moved to Christian Care Retirement Community in Bluffton, where Faith left her body behind on June 10, 2010 and moved forward in her spiritual journey. She is cherished by her family and friends.
Faith is survived by husband William, daughters Kathrine Richardson of Fort Wayne and Marcia Wilson of Plymouth, Minnesota, and one granddaughter, Christy Eckenrode of St. Louis Park, Minnesota.
She was preceded in death by her brother Willard Everett Clark and sister Mary Ellen McCurdy, both of Fort Wayne, as well as her nephews Gary Scott Clark and Matthew Lee Clark who resided in Florida.
Services were Monday, June 14, 2010 at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home For Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne, IN at 3:00 PM with calling two hours prior to services. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
Memorials are to Christian Care Retirement Community of Bluffton, IN. Please visit elzey-patterson-rodakfuneralhome.com to leave online condolences.
