ALICE M. SHANK, 91

ALICE M. SHANK, 91, of Venice, Florida and Fort Wayne, died Sunday, June 13, 2010, at her home. Born December 17, 1918, in Fort Wayne, she was a daughter of Joseph and Margaret (Palmer) Houlihan. She attended St. Patrick Grade School and St. Catherine Academy. On August 24, 1940, she married Howard T. Shank; he preceded her in death in 2002. They raised a family of seven children.
She is survived by one son, Daniel Shank of Fort Wayne; and four daughters, Sue (Paul) Wilkinson of Syracuse, Julie (Skip) Hanchar and Colleen (Steve) Corona, both of Fort Wayne and Molly (Jeffrey) Nagle of Valparaiso; brother, James Houlihan of Fort Wayne; sisters, Mary Fishman, Sally Houlihan and Peggy Hipskind, all of Fort Wayne; 19 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by two sons, Timothy, in 1997 and Mark, in 1974.
Funeral Mass is 1 p.m. Friday, June 18, 2010, at St. Therese Catholic Church, 2222 Lower Huntington Road, Fort Wayne, viewing one hour prior to the Mass. Fr. David Ruppert officiating. There will be a luncheon served at the St. Therese Church Hall following the service. Visitation also from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 17, 2010, at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home, 6424 Winchester Road, Fort Wayne. Private burial in the Catholic Cemetery.
