Why I Love Waynedale

There’s lots to love about Waynedale. It’s a very happy place
Everywhere you go, you’ll see a friendly face
Friends and family are always gathered near
If you ask me, there’s no better place to live than right here
The restaurants around town have many great deals
You don’t have to travel far to get a tasty meal
The stores are close by-you can find anything at all
Who needs to drive all the way to the mall?
I think Waynedale is a special little town
If you’re visiting for the first time, I bet you’ll stick around
And if you live here, you’re already off to a great start
To know what it is to be a “Waynedaler” at heart!
So I don’t mean to brag, and I don’t need to boast
But “Waynedale” Indiana is the place I enjoy the most!

Wonderful Waynedale

If you live in Waynedale you can give thanks
Everything’s handy: like all the banks,
post office, library, restaurants galore,
variety shops and a hardware store.
A laundromat and several fix-it spots,
ice cream places, good food at Hall’s and Scott’s.
Whatever you need it’s prob’ly not far
One could almost live there without a car!
Traffic’s not bad compared to north or west
As a place to raise children it’s the best.
Great school teachers and fun at Waynedale Park
Crime’s low so it’s safe to walk after dark.
We’ve a variety of churches, too,
that offer all kinds of things you can do.
Its hard-working folk are its greatest worth
I’m convinced there’s no place better on earth.

Third Place

Why I Love Waynedale

I lived here when I was a girl,
Then left Waynedale behind
But kept those years close to my heart
With memories in my mind.

Then I came back some years ago,
It’s home to me once more
I’ve found again the friendliness
That I so loved before.

It’s always been that kind of place
Back then — and still today
A stranger feels a welcome here
That makes one want to stay.

I’m glad to say I’m from Waynedale
When I’m in any crowd –
That I can claim it’s my hometown
Makes me feel very proud

We have schools and restaurants here,
Churches of many creeds,
Doctors and lawyers, shops and stores
Fulfilling wants and needs.

Close to hospitals, close to Fort Wayne,
Close to the airport too,
And a short drive makes accessible
So many things to do.

Oh, I’ve seen Waynedale grow and change
For progress happens here,
And yet it somehow still maintains
That small town atmosphere.

I’ve seen a woods become a park
And I’ve observed the pride
That shines on each Memorial Day
For those who have served and died.

So no matter where I wander,
No matter where I roam,
When I come back to Waynedale – then
I KNOW THAT I’VE COME HOME!!!
