LOCAL GARDENER RECEIVES STATE AWARD

The governor’s wife Cheri Daniels awarded Waynedale resident Barbara Jean Klemm, the First Lady of Indiana Cheri Daniels Award, at the 2009 Indiana State Fair on August 13.
First Lady Cheri Daniels chooses her favorite flowers, vegetables, and fruits within the Indiana Horticultural entries. The ceremony was conducted before 150 people in the Horticulture building on the state fair grounds.
Barbara’s award was given to her for the Cockscomb Crested Single she raised from seed in her garden. She received a check of $25 and a wall plaque designed specially for this award.
