ROBERT E. ZIEGLER, 82

ROBERT E. ZIEGLER, 82, passed away Thursday, May 14, 2009 at Hospice Home in Fort Wayne. Robert was born on May 18, 1926 in Fort Wayne, and resided all of his life in and near metropolitan Fort Wayne. He was a toolmaker, retiring from King Seeley of Kendallville in 1989 and from J & P Tool Inc. of Garrett in 2000. Robert was a U.S. Army World War II veteran and member of Elmhurst Church of the Nazarene.

Surviving are his wife of 62 and a half years, Eilene May Ziegler; son, Harvey R. (Judy) Ziegler; grandsons, Paul (Sarah) Ziegler, Stephen (Michelle) Ziegler; 10 nieces and nephews.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Rush and Ethel Ziegler; sisters, Marguerite Smith, Louise Derrow, and Ruth Spangler; foster son, Christopher Boggs; and grandson, Jeremiah Johnson.

Robert, (sometimes called Bob, sometimes called “Zig”) will be greatly missed. There will be a large void in the family, and they look forward to greeting him again in Heaven.

Service was 10:30 a.m. Monday at D.O. McComb and Sons Foster Park Funeral Home, 6301 Fairfield Avenue with Rev. Richard Dickson officiating. Calling 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

Memorials may be made to the Elmhurst Church of the Nazarene.
