JACKIE “JACK” SHEPARD SR., 71
JACKIE “JACK” SHEPARD SR., 71, of Fort Wayne, died Sunday, May 17, 2009, at St. Joseph Hospital. Born on June 14, 1937, in Sydney, Ohio, he was the son of the late Frank Shepard and Julia (Schaffer).
He worked as a supervisor/truck driver at Party Ice, retiring after 10 years in 1994. He was a Boy Scout leader for 12 years.And a carrier for the Waynedale News.
Surviving are his wife of 21 years, Mary K. (Oswalt) Shepard; seven children, Brenda Carman, Sandra Hood, Jacqueline Burden, Jack Shepard Jr., Julia Shepard, Joseph Shepard, and Kasey Shepard, five step children; many grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; one brother; and three sisters.
He was also preceded in death by his sister.
Funeral service was Friday, May 22, at C.M. Sloan & Sons Funeral Home, 1327 N. Wells Street. Burial in Lindenwood Cemetery.
