Mary, oh Mary
love
My best friend

She went out of town.
She didn’t come back again.

I got a call.
It was Mary.

She doesn’t live on my street anymore.
She said she was on vacation to fake me out.

I am mad. What do I do?
I calm down. Mary isn’t worth it.

A week later, Mary is at my door.
She was “joking.”

I am still mad.
But Mary is glad.

I play along.
I act so strong.
But I’m still weak.
Mary and I aren’t the same any more.
