FORT WAYNE DERBY GIRLS SCHEDULE TRY OUTS FOR 2008 SEASON

The Fort Wayne Derby Girls, Fort Wayne’s only all female, flat-track professional roller derby league, has scheduled try outs for the 2008 season. The 2008 season marks the Fort Wayne Derby Girls third season.

The Fort Wayne Derby Girls have stormed the Fort, blowing away fans with our skills on the track, commitment to community, and overall love for the game of roller derby. We have become a force to be reckoned with in the Fort Wayne sports arena and we are looking for a few good women to fill the ranks in our expanding league.

If you are interested in attending try-outs, please contact Miss Jane at jredrum@Fwderbygirls.com

About Fort Wayne Derby Girls Inc.

Roller derby, once a common sport in mid-’70s, has staged a comeback. Fort Wayne is at the pinnacle of Indiana’s roller derby resurgence. Since the birth of the state’s first all female, flat track roller derby league in October 2005, the league has donated over $25,000 to local women and children’s charity. The league has grown to two home teams of local women, as well as a traveling all-star team, the Bomb Squad. The league embodies the strength, courage, and vitality of Fort Wayne women, and serves to provide another form of athletic entertainment to the Summit City.
