THOMAS H. SORG, 87

THOMAS H. SORG, 87, of Fort Wayne, died Sunday, September 30, 2007, at St. Joseph Hospital. Born on July 23, 1920, in Allen County, he worked as a farmer, and worked at Fort Wayne Community Schools, retiring in 1985. He was a member of Knights of Columbus, St. Vincent de Paul Society, Holy Name Society, and St. Aloysius Catholic Church.

He was an avid gardener, and enjoyed woodworking. He loved feeding wildlife, and growing flowers. His life was his faith, and his family.

He married the love of his life and guardian angel of 63 years, Mary Marcella “Marcy” (Giant) Sorg in Fort Wayne; she survives.

Also surviving are his children, Mona Hart of Fort Wayne, Suzanne M. (Jerry) Hudson of Leo, Coleen (James) Rogers of Fort Wayne, Jean E. (Bob) Bruce of Fort Wayne, Cynthia (Bud) Sorg of Fort Wayne, Thomas (Laurie) Sorg of Yoder, Mary Kay (Jim) Freiburger of Fort Wayne, Tony (Leigh) Sorg of Fort Wayne, Tim Sorg of Yoder, Terrence (Janet) Sorg of Fishers, and Ted (Julie) Sorg of Roanoke; 45 grandchildren; and 40 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandchild; one great-grandchild; three brothers; and two sisters.

Prayer service was 10 a.m. Thursday at Elzey Patterson Rodak Home for Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne. Funeral Service was Thursday, October 4, 2007 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 14623 Bluffton Road, Yoder. Visitation was Wednesday, October 3, 2007 at the funeral home, with Rosary service at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. Burial in St. Aloysius Catholic Cemetery.
