MELVIN D. SMETHERS, 73
MELVIN D. SMETHERS, 73, of Fort Wayne, died Friday, October 5, 2007, in Fort Wayne. Born November 9, 1933, in Allen County, he was a U.S. Navy veteran. He was a member of Teamsters Union and retired from Warehouse for Food Marketing after 29 years of service, in 1996.
Surviving are his wife, Connie Smethers of Fort Wayne; daughters, Debra (Mark) Johnson, Jacquline D. (Mark) Slain and Angela Smethers, all of Fort Wayne; son, Paul P. Smethers of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Ashley Watts, Joshua and Erica Johnson.
Private funeral service. Visitation was Monday, October 8, 2007 at Elzey Patterson Rodak Home For Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne. Burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne.
