MARY L. (REED) SILVERS, 78
MARY L. (REED) SILVERS, 78, died peacefully Thursday, August 30th at Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home of Northeast Indiana, where she was cared for by Angels of Mercy. Born in Yoder, Indiana she was the eldest daughter of James Reed and Esther (Winters) Reed. She married Wilbur “Bill” Silvers on October 16, 1948, at Concordia Lutheran Church. She was an avid member of Messiah Lutheran Church. She was family oriented and loved cooking, golfing, bowling, gardening, and leisure walks with her friends and her dogs.
She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.
She was an accomplished artist (painter), specializing in oils and pastels. She retired from Hardware Wholesalers Inc., in 1992.
She was loved by many and will be missed by all who know her. “Mary had a giving spirit and a warm heart.”
She is survived by her three sons, Bruce, Dale and Terry; two daughters-in-law, Lori and Karen; grandson, Bruce Jr. (Noelle), all of Fort Wayne; step-grandchildren, Chris, Ian, Heather and Susundra; great-grandchildren, Ciera, Alyssa, Luke, Alayna, Makayla, Shayla and Dakota; sisters, Opal Frieberger of Ossian, Evelyn Watts and Bonnie Hendricks, both of Decatur; and brother, Gene Reed of Monroeville.
Preceeding her and greeting her into the kingdom of heaven are her husband, Wilbur; brother, Donald Reed; and sister, Carol Tustison.
Service was Tuesday, September 4, 2007 at Elzey Patterson Rodak Home For Funerals 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior to service. Calling was also Monday, September 3, 2007 at the funeral home. Burial at Covington Memorial Cemetery.
