July 30th winners of the Junior League All Stars
District 10 Championship against St. Joe 10-8

Tonya Harmeyer, proud parent, related, “We were in the bottom of the 8th inning. The score was 8-7 with St. Joe in the lead, we had 2 outs and 2 strikes and Jared McFarland hit a walk-off home run for the win and the District Champ title, the first one ever for this group of boys.

A few of these guys have played together since T-Ball and a few of them were brand new to the league and the game of baseball. All of them together made a great team. They had a vote on what color All Stars uniforms they would like to wear and the majority voted for pink and gray, yes, PINK & GRAY!! Their motto was, “Either beat the team wearing pink or be beat by the team wearing pink. Wouldn’t it be cool to go all the way wearing pink!” And that they did!!

As a parent of 3 children playing for Elmhurst Little League I am very proud of this team and their accomplishments. After this season these guys will go their separate ways as they are going off to 4 different high schools. I know that they will carry these memories and accomplishments with them as they go through life. They will be on different teams in high school and will come together on the baseball field once again, but against each other this time, but still for each other.

I am very thankful for the opportunity that Elmhurst Little League has given my son. And I am looking forward to many more seasons with my 2 younger sons. Go Elmhurst!!!”
