LOCAL STUDENTS WIN AWARDS
On Saturday, March 31, six students represented the Northeast Indiana Regional Science and Engineering Fair at the Hoosier State Fair held at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis. The students received the following state-level awards:
Rishika Chauhan, Snider High School, Fort Wayne
Finalist Division Placement, Life Sciences, 2nd Place: medal, ribbon, $35
3rd place, Excellent use of statistics: certificate and $100
August Steigmeyer, Canterbury High School, Fort Wayne
Indiana Scholars Award: certificate and $1,000 scholarship to IU Bloomington
Jacques Chansavang, Canterbury High School, Fort Wayne
Indiana Scholars Award: certificate and $1,000 scholarship to IU Bloomington
Best Veterinary Medicine Project: certificate, medallion, and cash award
Lindsay Crawford, Summit Middle School, Fort Wayne
Junior Division, Placement, Physics, 1st Place: ribbon, medal and $50
Honorable Mention, Excellent use of statistics: certificate
Jodie Goodman, Canterbury, Fort Wayne
Junior Division, Life Sciences, 1st Place: ribbon, medal and $50
Anna Tatara, Woodside Middle School, Fort Wayne
Innovation and Scientific Excellence in Geosciences (female): certificate
Rishika Chauhan, Snider High School, and August Steigmeyer, Canterbury High School, are also the senior division finalists to the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair in Albuquerque, New Mexico. They were chosen as representatives from the Northeast Indiana Regional Science and Engineering Fair, which was hosted by IPFW with sponsorship from International Truck & Engine Corporation and Raytheon.
