DELPHIA MARIE O’DELL, 92

DELPHIA MARIE O’DELL, 92, of Ovapa, West Virginia passed away peacefully at Dovie’s Retirement Home Sunday, February 18, 2007.

She was born in Procious to the late Abner Jehu and Laura Dodd Samples. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gay A. O’Dell; sons, Mark Andrew and Ronald Lee; and grandsons, David Paul Friend and Robert Gay Friend.

Delphia is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Larry A. and Alice O’Dell of Bomont; daughters and sons-in-law, Alyce Faye (author of News from the Hills) and Criss Bragg of Ovapa, Mary Ellen and Howard Friend of Ravenswood, Jeannie and Jim Perdue of Ovapa, Susie and Charles Loomis of Given; 26 grandchildren (two deceased); 65 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren.

The family wishes to extend special thanks to Dovie Starcher, Cindy and Julia, caregivers, for the loving and compassionate care given to our mother. Also, we are grateful to Dr. Leela Patel for the dedicated care of her.

Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Thursday, February 22, at Carl Wilson Funeral Home, Clay, with Minster Roger Cummings officiating. Burial will follow in the Church of God Cemetery, Ovapa.
