TRAVIS PROMOTED BY STATE POLICE
Indiana State Police Superintendent Paul Whitesell, Ph.D., recently announced that 1st Sgt. David Travis, a 15-year veteran, has been promoted to assistant district commander of the Seymour post.
Travis, who was appointed to ISP in December of 1990, had been serving as a corporal at the post before the promotion.
Travis also has served as a trooper for Bartholomew County, an assistant team leader for the South Region Emergency Response Team, a team member for the clandestine lab team and a firearms instructor for the Seymour district and the Indiana State Police Academy.
Travis graduated from Fort Wayne Elmhurst High School in 1984 and from Indiana State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in aviation in 1988. He lived in Bartholomew County with his wife, Kim, and their three granddaughters.
Travis will be assisting Lt. Mark Davis, commander of the Seymour Post.
