DOROTHY KAYE ACKER, 68

DOROTHY KAYE ACKER, 68, of Fort Wayne, died Friday, May 5, 2006, at her residence. Born in St. Johns, Michigan, she was a registered nurse at Lutheran Hospital. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church and a volunteer host at Fort Wayne International Airport.

Survived by her husband, Dr. Herb Acker; daughters, Erin (Bob) Floyd and Kristin (Craig) Brownell, both of Fort Wayne; sons, Dr. Phillip (Julie) Acker D.D.S. of Millstadt, Illinois and Grant (Lora) Acker of Fort Wayne; brother, Larry Colando of Irvine, California; sister, Beverly Renbarger of Fort Wayne; and 11 grandchildren.

Service was Monday at Peace Lutheran Church, 4900 Fairfield Avenue, with calling one hour prior to service. The Rev. Theodore Taykowski officiating. Calling was at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home, Winchester Road Chapel, 6424 Winchester Road. Burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park.

Memorials to Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo or Unity Lutheran School.
