CARL J. METKER, 91
CARL J. METKER, 91, of Fort Wayne, died Friday, December 30, 2005, at St. Joseph Hospital, Fort Wayne. Born November 3, 1914, in Fort Wayne, he was a foreman at General Electric, retiring in 1976. He was a member of Fraternal Order of the Eagles and St. Therese Catholic Church. “He enjoyed gardening and bowling.”
Survived by his wife, Ardola Metker of Fort Wayne; daughter, Janice Muir of Southboro, Massachesetts; sisters, Alverda (Lee) Jones of Fort Wayne and Delores (Joseph Sr.) Trempel of Scottsdale, Arizona; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Walter Rieger Sr.; and sisters, Loretta Wright and Esther Kempf.
Mass of Christian Burial was Wednesday, January 4, at St. Therese Catholic Church, 2304 Lower Huntington Road, Fort Wayne. Calling was also Tuesday, January 3, at Elzey Patterson Rodak Home for Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne. Burial at Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne.
