JOHN “PAGE” CHURCHWARD, 88

JOHN “PAGE” CHURCHWARD, 88, of Fort Wayne, died Monday, August 15, 2005, at Lutheran Hospital. Born February 13, 1917, in Poe, he was owner-operator of Waynedale Welding, with his father, Charles and also worked for General Electric for 15 years, retiring in 1982. He was a member of Independent Order of Odd Fellows and Waynedale Lions Club. He was a member of Trinity English Lutheran Church and enjoyed golf and fishing.

Survived by son, John C. (Linda) Churchward of Fort Wayne; brothers, William (Ginny) Churchward of Fort Wayne, Eugene Churchward of New Haven and Paul (Carolyn) Churchward of Churubusco; sisters, Rita Kendrick and Susan (Matthew) Vorich, both of Fort Wayne and Lorraine Hoss of Indianapolis; three grandchildren, Todd (Pam) Churchward of Fort Wayne, Anthony (Kim) Churchward of Leo and Jodi (Eric) Smith of Fishers; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Iva Seeman, in December of 1988; parents, Charles and Edna (Herber) Churchward; son, Steven Churchward; brothers, Wilbur and James Churchward; and sisters, Cecilia Churchward and Edna Imel.

Service was Friday, August 19 at Elzey Patterson Rodak Home for Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne. Pastor Aaron Blankenhorn officiating. Burial at Covington Memorial Gardens. Memorials to American Heart Association.
