HARRY CANTEY JR., 71, of Fort Wayne, died Friday, March 18, 2005, at St. Joseph Hospital, Fort Wayne. Born February 3, 1934, in Monroe, North Carolina, he was a Manager at K-Mart (Kresge) Distribution Center. He was a member of Saint Aloysius Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, and graduate of Marietta College, Marietta, Ohio. He was honorably discharged from the Navy, in 1955. He was a Genealogist and an avid reader of History and Literature.
Surviving are his wife, Margaret M. Cantey; mother, Jean Lee Cantey of Augusta, Georgia, daughters, Margaret C. Cantey of Fort Wayne and Mary Dishong of New Haven; sons, Teige Cantey of Fort Wayne, Harry Cantey III of Germantown, Maryland and John Cantey of Fort Wayne; brother, Roderick Cantey of Aiken, South Carolina; sister, Jean McIlwain of Watchung, New Jersey; and grandchildren, Harry Cantey IV of Germantown, Maryland, Brianna Dishong of New Haven and Cambrian Bomersback of Fort Wayne.
Mass of Christian Burial was Tuesday March 22, at Saint Aloysius Catholic Church, 14623 Bluffton Road, Yoder. Visitation was Monday, March 21 at Elzey Patterson Rodak Home For Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne. Burial at Saint Aloysius Catholic Cemetery.
