PAUL K. HABECKER SR., 86
PAUL K. HABECKER SR., 86, of Fort Wayne, died Monday, December 20, 2004, in Fort Wayne. Born May 12, 1918, in Fort Wayne, he was Plant Manager for Wayne Novelty, Decatur, retiring in 1983. He also was an Engineer at Weatherhead, Antwerp, Ohio for 18 years. He was a member of Lions Club for 30 years, was District Governor from 1981 to 1982, received the Melvin Jones Fellowship for dedicated humanitarian services and was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church. Also he was dedicated to Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home, receiving five awards for being an outstanding volunteer. He donated all the roses in the hospice garden in memory of his wife. He also spent numerous hours as a volunteer at the Auburn Cord Duesenburg Museum and was a member of several engineering societies.
Surviving are son, Paul K. (Londa) Habecker Jr. of Fort Wayne; daughter, Rita M. (Ed) Bash of Camphill, Pennsylvania; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Habecker, in 1995.
Mass of Christian Burial was Thursday, December 23, at St. Therese Catholic Church, 2304 Lower Huntington Road, Fort Wayne. Visitation was Wednesday, December 21, at Elzey Patterson Rodak Home For Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne. Burial at Lindenwood Cemetery.
