ELMHURST’S HARDY SETS RECORD
Indiana University recruit, James Hardy had a record setting night in a game against Harding Saturday, December 13, 2003. The game was played at Harding High School. Elmhurst struggled against the Hawks physical inside defense and lost in overtime.
Elmhurst trailed by 10 points going into the fourth, but rallied back and outscored the Harding Hawks to put the game into overtime.
Elmhurst will get a chance to play Harding again at the SAC Holiday Tournament, which will be played Monday, December 29, at 10:45am at Northrop High School.
Hardy’s 57 against Harding was the most points scored by an individual in the state since Kyle Cox of Blue River scored 59 in the 1999-2000 season.
On Wednesday night, December 17th James scored 31 points against Heritage in a 69-38 victory. This Friday, December 19th Elmhurst takes on Northrup at Northrup.
Hardy has stated his intentions to sign with Indiana University in both basketball and football.
