THREE RIVERS CROCHET GUILD
Our next meeting will be November 10, 2003, at Michael’s Craft Store, in the Jefferson Pointe Shopping Center. For those who always wanted to learn to crochet, but never had the help you needed, come and join those of us who have been at it for quite a while, and are interested in teaching the skill to others.‑ If you already know how to crochet, join us and share time with those who love to crochet as you do. We are all at different levels of ability. We bring our projects with us and show the rest of the group what we are doing. ABOITE LUTHERAN CHURCH ANNOUNCES NEW SERVICE TIMES
Aboite Lutheran Church, 10312 Aboite Center Road has changed service times. Services now begin Sunday at 8:30am, 10:15am, and Monday at 7pm. Kids Konnection (Sunday School) begins at 10:15am Sunday mornings. Nursery care is offered for infants through 4-year olds for all services.

 

WANTED! VOLUNTEERS TO ASSIST SENIOR CITIZENS
The AARP Tax-Aide program needs your help in assisting Senior Citizens to prepare their federal and/or state of Indiana Tax Returns. After training by an IRS Instructor, the counselors are assigned to a site in Allen County. We ask the volunteer to work forty (40) hours during the tax season (2 February to 15 April 2004). Seeking to alleviate the problems of the homeless, Vincent House, 2827 Holton Avenue (456-4172) provides shelter, care, advocacy, affordable housing and support services for homeless families as these families build strength and strive to become independent, productive members of the community. Rooted in a belief in God, and under the direction of a diverse board, Vincent House seeks to affirm the dignity of life for all served. In doing so, The Vincent Village Outlet Store has opened at 918 E. Pontiac where families in the Vincent Village program can pick out furnishings for their home at no cost. We are in need of gently used furniture, appliances and household items. We especially need beds (twin) and dressers. Your donations help Vincent House provide comfortable, safe, and affordable housing for homeless families in Fort Wayne. We have special needs also – diapers in all sizes – wipes – adult/child Tylenol, no-alcohol cold medication – coffee/sugar – paper plates, napkins, paper towels, hair care products for Afro-Americans, anti-bacterial hand soap, cleaning supplies, laundry detergent, bleach, hats, gloves, mittens, and boots for children.

The United States continues to see a downturn in the economy and families are facing challenging financial situations. Continual company buyouts, downsizing, and closures place a real strain on family finances. Families can work together to make it through these times. Resources are available from the Purdue Cooperative Extension Service to assist with this time of change. HERITAGE HIGH SCHOOL DINNER THEATRE PRESENTS
The Heritage High School music department will be presenting its annual dinner theatre on November 16, 2003. This year’s theme is True Colors and will feature a rainbow of musical selections performed by the Harmony Connection and Jazz Band. The menu includes a choice of Swiss Steak or Grilled Chicken, a vegetable, potato, salad, roll, dessert and drink. The show will take place in the Heritage cafetorium at 6:00pm. Tickets for dinner and entertainment need to be purchased by November 7th. The cost is $10 for adults and $6.50 for children10 and under. KOREAN WAR VETERANS’
ASSOCIATION INDIANA CHAPTER ONE SEEKS NEW MEMBERS
The KWVAIC#1 is seeking new members. The following is the criteria for membership: Any person who has seen honorable service in any of the Armed Forces of the United States, said service being within Korea from September 3, 1945 to June 25, 1950 or within/without Korea from June 25, 1950 to January 31st, 1955 or who as a member of the Armed Forces of the U.S. served honorably in Korea from February 1, 1955 shall be eligible for membership. We have members of our organization that were not at any time in Korea but served during that said time. You are most welcome too. Free Hair Cuts. Additional Services include provisions of: Winter clothing, blankets and personal hygiene items.
