On June 16th, 2003 Dan and Bonnie Gage opened the door to Star Health and Fitness, 6810 U.S. Hwy 27 South, which is located next to Little Turtle’s Hillcrest Bowl. Bonnie had been a member of American Health and Fitness Center for the past 5 years. She was upset to find out that the fitness center would be closing. She told her husband Dan that she didn’t know what she was going to do. Where would she go for her Aquatic Classes? His reply was, “Why don’t we buy it?” Three weeks later they were the proud owners of Star Health and Fitness. The couple bought the health club that was originally known as American Health Fitness Center South.

Customers will notice some new changes and in the future, the Gages are planning on changing the name of their fitness center to the “Members Club”. Bonnie and Dan have found that the people on the south side are very grateful to have a fitness club, one that offers aquatic classes, an equipment room, a walking track, pool, dry sauna, and a steam room to enjoy.

The Gages feel that service to their members is first and foremost. They have found that it is important to involve their members in the decisions of the club. Star Health and Fitness is open on Monday-Friday 9am-9:30pm and Saturday 8am-5pm.
