A VETERAN’S PRAYER
by Greg Garland, Chef de Gare – Voiture 1601-40/8, Lake Dallas, Texas
Lord it gets harder
As time goes by,
It hurts to see another
Comrade die.
My heart plays taps
When each day is through
Though no one will hear it
But me and you.
So please hear my prayers
And keep our troops safe
And I pray for the enemy
Should I have to take one comrade’s place.
