KAMPFIRE KOOKIN’
BOY SCOUT MACBEEF SOUP
1/2 pound hamburger (brown and drain)
1 medium onion (chopped)
1 small green pepper (chopped)
1/2 tsp. Dried basil (crushed)
1/2 tsp. Dried oregano (crushed)
3 cans tomato soup
4 cups water
2 tsp. Lemon juice
4 cups cooked elbow macaroni
Garlic powder to taste
salt & pepper to taste
Put browned/drained hamburger, onion, pepper, basil and oregano together in a sauce pan. Add soup, water, lemon juice, and cooked macaroni. Heat through and serve. Should serve 4 hungry Boy Scouts or 8 adults. This is a good soup to make ahead of time and take along in a thermos for eating on that long canoe trip or hike.
