If you think St. Therese Parish consists only of a church and school, you should know St. Therese Little Flower Theater also exists and will present a murder-mystery dinner theater titled “Broadway Babylon” on the weekend of October 4-5.

Written by Peter DePietri and produced by special arrangement with Samuel French, Inc., the play consists of a crime the audience helps to solve. Set on Broadway, the mystery unfolds at a local night club and even audience members reportedly could become suspects. Watch for the clues. They are everywhere!

Fr. Joe Rulli, pastor of St. Therese Parish, will play Charlie Smedley, one of 10 parts in the production. Others in the cast include Pat Landon (Ethel Champion Abbett), Elaine Cooper (Polly Ester), Rosie Jackson (Sally Peabody), Steve Leffers (Ralph Scumbo), Karen Leffers (hostess for the evening), Julie Kelm (Lolly Pop), Al Schnellenberger (Dan Dapper), Susan Maloney (Francine DuBois), pianist is Barbara Schuhler along with a host of singing waiters, waitresses and bartenders.

There are two performances in the Parish Hall with only 150 seats available each night. Tables of eight also may be reserved. In addition, a silent auction will be held throughout the weekend with proceeds benefitting the parish.

On Friday, October 4, the play is geared for Adults Only. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. with dinner served at 6:30 p.m. followed by the play at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $25 per person and admission includes dinner and one free drink.

The dinner menu, prepared by Liz O’Brien, Justina Huhn and Terri Dossen, consists of “Beef ala Yonkers” (beef au jour), “42nd Street Potato” (twice baked), “Manhattan Salad” (like a Casa salad), “5th Avenue Beans” (green bean almondine), “New York Cheese Cake,” “Broadway Bread,” soft drinks, and a cash bar for wine and beer.

Saturday, October 5, is designated Family Night. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with the play beginning at 7:00 p.m. Admission is $5.00 per person and includes popcorn and a soft drink.

Come join in the fun! Tickets are available after all weekend Masses or by calling the school at 747-2343. All ticket proceeds will benefit the parish music/drama department.
