FROM THE ALLEN COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT
A man armed with a handgun entered the Dairy Queen, 501 Lower Huntington Road, just after it had opened on Friday, September 21st. The man has been described as a male/black, about 5’7″ – 5’9″, and as having a thin build. At the time of the robbery he was wearing a fishing-style hat and sunglasses. No further description is available, and the caliber of the handgun he displayed is unknown.
The store employee reported that the man entered the store, displayed the handgun, and demanded money. He ordered the employee to give him her care keys, and to lie on the floor while he left. He took the employee’s vehicle, which was recovered, abandoned, by a sheriff’s officer about 15 minutes later in a nearby apartment complex parking lot (Willow Creek Crossing).
