BILL DAVIS RETIREMENT ANNOUNCEMENT
It’s official. After 50 years of working for the SandPoint Greenhouse, Bill Davis decided to retire on June 1st, 2003. He is a native of Hartford City, IN where he began working in his mother and stepfather’s greenhouse when he was seven! Bill’s enthusiasm for this business was well known by his customers and fellow employees.
Over the years he has given speeches on greenhouse production for several groups including local clubs, churches, interior designers and schools including Ohio State, Purdue University and Rutgers University.
Bill held the office of President for the Northeast Growers Association for 3 separate terms, as well as, two terms as President of the Indiana Flower Growers Association. In 1984, he was named the Indiana’s “Flower Grower of the Year.”
On June 21st, Mark Lewinski of SandPoint Greenhouse held a party in his honor where friends, family and former employees wished Bill a healthy retirement. Bill is looking forward to doing the things he loves best – watching the Chicago Cubs, IU Basketball, fishing, Nascar racing, and spending time with his family.
