“FACES OF LINCOLN EXHIBIT” OPENS APRIL 3
The History Center commemorates the bicentennial of President Abraham Lincoln’s birth with the exhibit “The Faces of Lincoln, Part III: Idealizing the Image,” on display April 3 through May 15, 2009.
The Faces of Lincoln is a three-part exhibit that is comprised of holdings from the Jack Smith and Daniel R. Weinberg Lincoln collections from the Indiana Historical Society. Viewers of this portion of The Faces of Lincoln exhibit are invited to consider “who was the ‘real’ Lincoln?” They are challenged to look closely at the images and try to determine what kind of images and symbols the printmakers used to convey their, and the nation’s, feelings toward Abraham Lincoln.
History Center hours are: Monday-Friday 10 am-5 pm; Saturday 12-5 pm; First Sunday of each month 12-5 pm. Admission: $5 adults; $3 seniors and students; History Center members and children 5 and under free.
The History Center is located at 302 East Berry Street, Fort Wayne, Indiana. For more information, call (260) 426-2882, or visit www.fwhistorycenter.com.
