NEW & ENLARGED MIDWEST AMERICA WAYNEDALE BRANCH
A groundbreaking ceremony was held for MidWest America Federal Credit Union in Waynedale on Tuesday, October 28th at 10:30am. The intended facility will be located at 6003 Bluffton Road in the Wayne Plaza Shopping Center. Upon completion, the new facility will replace MidWest America Federal Credit Union’s existing building and will be considerably larger than the current. It will be approximately 1900 square feet as compared to the original branch of 800 square feet built in 1999.
Charles D. Bitler, President/CEO of MidWest America Federal Credit Union comments, “The acceptance of Midwest America by the residents in the Waynedale area has been overwhelming! We have outgrown our current space in less than three years and we are literally busting at the seams. We are excited to provide our members with a state-of-the-art first class facility.”
The new full-service branch will be a free-standing structure with over twice the square footage. It will have a brick exterior with 3 drive-up lanes plus a 24-hour drive-up ATM. The lobby will feature expanded teller and loan service areas. This branch office will also be equipped with an entrance control system. Romary Associates, Inc. of Fort Wayne, designed the new banking unit and is also the general contractor.
Divya Rajdev is the branch manager for this financial facility. The expansion is expected to necessitate the addition of at least 2 new employees and is to be competed by the end of the year.
MidWest Federal Credit Union was chartered in 1936 as the General Electric Employees Federal Credit Union. It operates 10 offices in Indiana, plus an additional 5 branches in Illinois, Kentucky and North Carolina. The Credit Union has over $311 million in assets and currently employs approximately 175, and serves over 65,000 members.
