LOCAL STUDENTS REACH OUT TO KATRINA VICTIMS
Students at St. Joseph-St. Elizabeth Ann Seton School in Fort Wayne recently donated hundreds of Beanie Babies to an evacuation center in Brookhaven, Mississippi.
“The students in grades K-8 wanted to do something for the children in that community, displaced by Hurricane Katrina,” stated Lois Widner, Principal of SJSEAS School.
“Many of these children were forced to leave their homes without time to gather their favorite possessions and our students wanted to give to them the Beanie Babies as a gesture of comfort and caring.”
Representatives from the Fort Wayne Medical Educations program delivered the Beanie Babies while on a medical mission to the affected area.
