A GREAT MAN RETIRES WITH A GREAT HISTORY OF GIVING TO THE CITIZENRY OF WAYNE TOWNSHIP

On January 6, one of the all time greats in the 167 year history of the Wayne Township Office retired to a heroes sendoff. Wilford Allen Community Liaison for the Wayne Township Trustee’s Office for the past seven years received a proclamation from the County Commissioners of Allen County, had a flag flown over the Capital Building in Washington, D.C. in his honor and received a letter congratulating him by U.S. Congressman Mark Souder, and received the following proclamation from the Wayne Township Trustee’s Office:

PROCLAMATION

WHEREAS, Wilford Gilbert Allen has worked dutifully and unselfishly for both: the County of Allen, and the Wayne Township Trustee’s Office in the County of Allen during the past twenty three years; and

WHEREAS, Wilford Gilbert Allen has served the Citizens of Wayne Township in an executive position on the Wayne Township Board; and

WHEREAS, Wilford Gilbert Allen has provided unparalleled insight into the operation of the Wayne Township Trustee’s Office to the benefit of the Wayne Township Staff and its Citizens due to his understanding of the History of the Office; and

WHEREAS, Wilford Gilbert Allen has helped to establish the Wayne Township Trustee’s Office as one of the most respected and appreciated Government Offices in our Community through his efforts as Wayne Township Community Liaison; and

WHEREAS, Wilford Gilbert Allen has served as acting Wayne Township Trustee in the absence of the duly elected Trustee;

NOW, THEREFORE, I MATTHEW SCHOMBURG, Wayne Township Trustee, In the County of Allen, Indiana, do hereby proclaim, January 6, 2006, as

Wilford Gilbert Allen Day

In Wayne Township, and I encourage all Wayne Township Citizens to acknowledge the dedication of one of the Great Men in the One Hundred Sixty Seven Year History of the Wayne Township Office.
