LORAN K. SKINNER, 81
LORAN K. SKINNER, 81, of Fort Wayne, died Tuesday, April 25, 2006, at Englewood Healthcare Center. Born July 22, 1924, in Fort Wayne, he was the son of the late Clarence E. Skinner and Ruth Ann (Kenyon). During his years he enjoyed rollerskating at Kree’s Skating Rink, Coney Island hotdogs, auto racing past and present all the way back to The Fort Wayne Speedway and South Anthony Speedway and taking road trips. He was a member of First Baptist Church and Carpenters Union Local 232.
Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Kathleen M. (Baker) Skinner of Fort Wayne; two daughters, Laurel Cruze of Forney, Texas and Marilyn K. Long of Fort Wayne; four sons, Lee (Jeani) Skinner, Dee (April) Skinner, Tom Mennewish and David (Mel) Mennewish, all of Fort Wayne; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and some great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was Friday, April 28, at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home, Winchester Road Chapel, 6424 Winchester Road, the Rev. Charles B. Lyman officiating. Burial in Covington Memorial Gardens.
