LEONARD L. “PETE” GORRELL, 75
LEONARD L. “PETE” GORRELL, 75, of Fort Wayne, died Tuesday, April 11, 2006, at his residence. Born October 9, 1930, in Fort Wayne, he was a homebuilder, cabinet builder and tool and dye maker. He was a Navy veteran serving from 1946 to 1951. He was a member of American Legion Post 296 and Republican National Committee.
He had fond memories of growing up in Waynedale and the five years he spent in the U.S. Navy. He enjoyed telling stories of his childhood and Navy experiences. He also enjoyed and loved his family along with golfing and woodworking.
Surviving are his wife, JoAnn Gorrell of Fort Wayne; sons, Bruce (Sherry) Gorrell of Roanoke, Brad Gorrell of Lenexa, Kansas and Brent Gorrell of Austin, Texas; and grandchildren, Chad (Katy), Todd (Hilary) and Paul Gorrell, Rebekah (Jason) Gibson and Rachel Gorrell.
Funeral service was Saturday, April 15, at Elzey Patterson Rodak Home For Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne, with visitation one hour prior to service. Visitation was at the funeral home. Burial was in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Ossian.
