RUTHANN GERKE, 87

RUTHANN GERKE, 87, passed away and entered Heaven on Thursday, July 21, 2016. She was born June 24, 1929 to the late Robert and Anna Bixler.

She was a loving and kind mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

Surviving are her sons, Pastor Robert (Linda) Gerke and James (Cynthia) Gerke; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one great great grandson; and special cousin, Joan (Robert) Eledge.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter W. Gerke in 2000; son, Michael Gerke in 1991, one grandchildren; and her cat and companion, Tommie.

Funeral service will be Thursday, July 28, 2016 at 11 am at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, 1819 Reservation Drive, Fort Wayne, IN 46819 with visitation one-hour prior. Visitation was on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home For Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46809.

Burial will be in Covington Memorial Gardens.

Preferred memorials may be made to Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church. Visit www.elzey-patterson-rodakfuneralhome.com to leave condolences.
