BURNICE E. TOOR, 87
BURNICE E. TOOR, 87, passed away Monday, July 18, 2011 at Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home in Fort Wayne. She was a native and lifetime resident of Fort Wayne, Burnice worked as a Secretary with Fort Wayne Community Schools for 27 years, retiring in 1990. She was a member of United Faith Presbyterian Church and also volunteered at the Embassy Theater and St. Joseph Hospital.
Surviving are her sons, Gerald L. (Sharon) Toor, Steven M. Toor, all of Fort Wayne, son, Daniel R. (Jane) Toor of Kokomo, daughter, Deborah L. Hyatt of Fort Wayne, grandchildren, Lisa Cearbaugh, Andrea Hyatt, Joshua Hyatt, Erica Hutton, and Ashley Mitchell; great-grandchildren, Kody Cearbaugh, Katelynn Cearbaugh, Haylyn Cearbaugh, and Dominic Mitchel.
Burnice was preceded in death by her father, William R. Shearer, her mother, Ora Boston, her loving husband of 61 years, Gerald (Mike) W. Toor, sisters, Willodene Neumann and Elizabeth Shearer.
Service was at 10:00 am, July 23, 2011 at United Faith Presbyterian Church, 1616 West Main Street, Fort Wayne, with Dr. Hal V. Thomas officiating with calling 1 hr prior. Calling also at D.O. McComb and Sons Foster Park Funeral Home, 6301 Fairfield Avenue on Friday, July 22, 2011 from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm & 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Burial in Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
