PET ADOPTION FEES WAIVED FOR TEACHERS
Fort Wayne Animal Care & Control announces its “Teach Kindness” event, which provides fee-waived Guinea Pig adoptions for teachers as a way to say thank you to the community’s hard-working educators.
Educators are invited to come by the shelter located at 3020 Hillegas Road Saturday, May 18 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. to adopt their new furry friend. All public, private, and pre-school teachers are eligible for a fee-waived adoption of one Guinea Pig or a bonded pair. Standard adoption approval procedures apply. Adoptions will be first come, first serve until all Guinea Pigs receive loving homes.
“We work with more than 200 teachers in our community through our Humane Education Programs,” said Holly Pasquinelli, Community Relations and Education Specialist. “We see first-hand the hard work they put in to impact future generations, and we felt like this would be a way to give back to that community and place animals in loving homes.”
Teachers will be provided with a lesson plan, educational video and other materials so they can share their adoption experience with their students.
Educators should present an employee photo ID, pay stub or name badge at the time of adoption.
