NEIGHBORHOOD CONFERENCE WORKSHOP

Anyone interested in presenting or facilitating a workshop for the upcoming Regional Neighborhood Network Conference (RNNC) is now invited to submit their workshop proposal to the organizing committee.
This year’s RNNC is set for September 19-21, 2019 and is hosted by Fort Wayne. The theme is “Play in the Fort,” with an emphasis on how recreation and social interaction can help transform neighborhoods.

Launched in 1986 by the City of Louisville, the Regional Neighborhood Network Conference is a three-day event hosted each year by one of 20+ Midwestern cities in five states: Indiana, Ohio, Illinois, Kentucky and Tennessee. During the event, approximately 350 volunteers, community leaders, business leaders and government employees gather to learn from each other and gain valuable ideas to help transform their communities, one neighborhood at a time.

The Fort Wayne organizing committee is planning an event filled with hands-on learning events, informative workshops, inspiring keynote addresses, and plenty of fun. Only 16 workshop presenters will be selected and it’s anticipated that the committee will receive more than 50 proposals.

Workshop topics can focus on many topics, including neighborhood improvement, urban design, redevelopment, neighborhood safety, public and private investments, place-making, public art and social well-being.
