LOCAL INITIATIVE TO NURTURE A COMMUNITY OF ENTREPRENEURS

OCEAN Northeast Indiana (NEI), a community initiative launched in Fort Wayne earlier this year to create a community for entrepreneurs through training and events, will host an event at 6 p.m. on Aug. 23 at Junk Ditch Brewing Company.

This particular OCEAN NEI event will feature live music from local band O’ Sister, Brother, locally brewed beer and food from Junk Ditch Brewing Company, and founder of MudLOVE, Luke Wright, as the keynote speaker.

OCEAN NEI believes community is formed around story, and tries to highlight stories of hope, perseverance, and lessons learned from failure to encourage and inspire local small business owners. This month’s event theme is “Risk It,” and is centered around how being willing to take risks is a necessity for every entrepreneur and small business owner.

At this month’s event, Luke Wright, founder of handmade pottery and jewelry company MudLOVE, will share how risk has impacted the story of both his life and his business. Additionally, the founders of Junk Ditch Brewing Company will share their story on how taking a leap of faith led them to where they are today, running a successful local brewery.

OCEAN NEI focuses on sustainable economic development by developing entrepreneurs. Key program platforms include creating healthy relationships, sharpening business skills, and exploring how faith and entrepreneurship intersect.

Ambassador Enterprises is the lead sponsor of OCEAN NEI. Their support reflects the desire to encourage a sustainable entrepreneurial community in Northeast Indiana. OCEAN NEI is a partner of Ocean, Inc, a Cincinnati based, independent non-profit that operates a training hub for entrepreneurs.

OCEAN NEI will continue to offer events to encourage networking and provide inspiration for regional entrepreneurs and small business owners. Interested parties are invited to join the next event on Aug. 23 – “Risk It” – at Junk Ditch Brewing Company. Tickets are free and doors open at 5:30 p.m. To learn more about how this program is making a difference in NEI, or to register for events, visit www.ocean-nei.com.
