CELEBRATE NATIONAL POLLINATOR WEEK
Mount Calvary Lutheran Child Care & Preschool Ministry recently visited the Southwest Conservation Club to learn more about pollinators, the environment and their connection to the food we eat by participating in the “Explore the Honeybee” program by Southwest Honey Co.
June 20- 26, 2016 has been designated National Pollinator Week by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the U.S. Department of the Interior. Nine years ago the U.S. Senate’s unanimous approval and designation of a week in June as “National Pollinator Week” marked a necessary step toward addressing the urgent issue of declining pollinator populations.
A perfect way to celebrate the upcoming National Pollinator Week, pollinator educational experiences are open to individuals and groups of all ages seeking to learn more about their connection to pollinators and how they help us. The program also has the ability to travel to give on-site educational experiences for birthday parties, special events and other fun occasions.
