EACH DINNER TICKET SOLD PROVIDES A LOCAL CHILD WITH SHOES

Food For Shoes Lions ClubThe Waynedale Lions Club has teamed with Waynedale Elementary, the PTA and other local organizations to buy a local child in need a pair of shoes with every adult dinner sold at an upcoming fundraiser. On Thursday, February 11 from 4-7pm the Waynedale Lions will host a fish dinner with a desert bake sale at Waynedale Elementary School (7201 Elzey Street, Fort Wayne, IN).

Jim Springer, president of the Waynedale Lions Club and lead organizer of the event, “Many parents have trouble affording the many basic school supplies, and shoes are often overlooked when budgeting. Every child needs a good pair of shoes for success in an educational environment, especially now with so many students walking to school.”

Each adult fish dinner sold will purchase a pair of shoes for a child in need. Dinners include “Dan’s Fish Fry” fish, two sides, a roll and a drink. Tickets are available now at a special presale price; $10 for adults (presale) or $12 at the door the day of the event; and a child’s meal is $6.50. Advance tickets can be purchased until the event at Jim Springer Elder Law (7111 Old Trail Rd, Fort Wayne), The Waynedale News (2505 Lower Huntington Road, Fort Wayne), Waynedale Elementary (7201 Elzey Street, Fort Wayne) and other locations, which will be listed on www.waynedale.com/lions.

We are still accepting donations and volunteer assistance to make this event even better! If you can help or would like more information about the event, go to www.waynedale.com/lions or by calling Jim Springer (260) 747-7224.
