CURRICULUM FOR CHILDREN – Homeschooling Is Where The Heart Is
Parents considering homeschooling worry about finding the appropriate curriculum for their children. The only problem I have encountered with finding curriculum is there are so many appropriate ones to choose from. As with any question you have about anything these days, you can do an internet search and get an overwhelming amount of information. There is a plethora of searching possibilities and curriculum choices. Do searches asking what homeschooling curriculum do you use / recommend?
If you want a hands on experience go to the library and flip through or check out the curriculums that they have to offer. You’ll find books that will give you advice, help you organize your homeschool experience and tell you what academic skills your child should acquire in any given grade. We have a wonderful main library and branches full of people that will help you with the resources you need. You can ask a librarian to prepare a bag of goodies for you to help you teach long division to your 4th grader or Indiana state history to your 5th grader. Cool huh? The library has books, texts, videos; you name it waiting to fall off the shelf into your hands.
You probably already know people who homeschool, talk with them about their experiences with the choices they’ve made. Email me with your homeschooling questions at homeschoolingheart@gmail.com.
Until next month God bless you and your little or not so little ones!
